An alarm rings.
A man runs.
A woman drives a car.
A man walks in the darkness.

This might seem like a series of random, unrelated actions, yet the reader is already trying to create a connection between these scenes. Loo.þ.it plays with that connection between disconnected actions, a connection that is made possible by the viewer.

The platform relies on the filmic principle explained by the Kuleshov effect, according to which the viewer is able to derive more meaning from the interaction of two sequential shots than from a single one. By browsing a library of animated loops, the user is able to choose, select, and combine the favourite ones to create a never-ending narrative.

The project has been developed as part of my graduation for the Master of Animation at AKV St. Joost.

Platform built by: Maurizio Paganessi and Claudio Marzella

The platform is currently offline, but here’s a sneak peak into how it used to be.
